METHOD OF CODING VIDEO DATA

PURPOSE: A method of coding video data is provided to code the video data through a simple coding procedure with high compression efficiency. CONSTITUTION: Video data is separated from a predetermined frame of an image and arranged in the form of interlaced scanning line. Pixels of the scanning lines right before and after the current scanning line of the frame are exclusive-OR operation performed to generate information of the scanning lines right before and after the current scanning line, a pixel value(exclusive-OR information) of the current scanning line, selected according to the exclusive-OR operation result, and pixel values(exception information) of the current scanning line, which are excluded in the exclusive OR operation. The information of the scanning lines right before and after the current scanning line is coded to form a bit stream. The run-length of the same pixel value is obtained and the run-length is coded using a predetermined entropy coding method to code the exclusive-OR information. Then, the exception information is coded. The bit stream formed by coding the information of the scanning lines right before and after the current scanning line is combined with bit streams formed by coding the exclusive-OR information and exception information to form one bit stream.
