PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell device with the simple structure which can continuously operate over a long time while sufficiently preventing the poisoning of the electrode catalyst of cathode and to provided its operation method. SOLUTION: This fuel cell device 1 is provided with a fuel cell FC having an electrolyte membrane EM pinched by an anode A and a cathode C, a reformer device 30, a blower B for supplying air to the cathode C of the fuel cell, a solenoid valve SV5 for supplying the steam for humidifying air into a gas line L6 between the blower B and the cathode, a heat exchanger 110 for converting the humidifying water supplied to the solenoid valve SV5 from a water tank to steam, demisters D2 and D3 f or separating moisture included in the exhaust gas discharged from the fuel cell FC from the exhaust gas to supply it to the water tank, and an oxidization chamber 100 having the oxidizing catalyst for oxidizing and eliminating a poisoning component against the electrode catalyst of the cathode included in the humidified air. |
