PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption of a network system having high data transfer rate. SOLUTION: Using an associative memory 1 in which for each bit after AND operation in which a mask valid state is true for all mask information corresponding to stored data coinciding with the retrieved data 12 is performed, when mask information is a invalid state, a bit corresponding to the retrieved data 12 is outputted to the bit of output information, when mask information is a valid state, an invalid state of the stored data is outputted to the bit of output information, the retrieved data 12 is inputted to an associative memory 1, first retrieving is performed, output information is taken out, second retrieving is performed making output information obtained for the stored data being coincident in the first retrieving as retrieving data, and only a coincidence line 5 of a word being coincident with output information is selected as a retrieved result. Optimum memory address signal 403 is obtained by encoding the selected coincident line 5, an address 405 to be transferred enabling the shortest network connection is obtained, and output transfer data 409 is generated by synthesizing data part 412 in input transfer data 408 and destination network address 411. |
