PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a push button switch which enables only pushing-in operation of an operation shaft in the initial state, wherein the operation shaft is made not to rotate. SOLUTION: In a pressing part 13 constituting a lower part of operation shaft 4, a protrusion 31 on the first shaft side is formed, and a protrusion 41 on the main body side is formed in an inner peripheral face of a housing part 6 in a switching main body 3, and in the initial state, the rotation of the operation shaft 4 is regulated as the protrusion 31 on the first shaft side is abutted on the protrusion 41 on the main body side, and only the pushing-in operation of the operation shaft is enabled.
