PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an MR ratio of a magnetic element. SOLUTION: The magnetic element 1 comprises a plurality of laminated films containing different compositions. The element 1 has a magnetoresistive effect in which an electric resistance is changed by applying a magnetic field. In this element 1, a recess 11 for transmitting a current in a laminating perpendicular direction of the laminated films is formed. In the element 1, the current flows to a part except the part formed with the recess 11 and hence the current flows with a component in the perpendicular direction A. Thus, conduction electrons are propagated in the element 1 while passing the interfaces of the plurality of the laminated films.
