PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the external electrode formation method of electronic components that can form an external electrode where almost no pinholes exist inside. SOLUTION: An element where a paste-like external electrode material is applied is put into a pressure reduction chamber, the pressure in the chamber is reduced by a vacuum pump, and pressure reduction deaeration treatment is made (a pressure reduction deaeration process), thus moving and breaking a bubble existing inside the paste-like external electrode material to the surface of the external electrode material for removal. Then, the deaerated paste-like external electrode material is dried (a drying process).
