摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transformer which has a cooling duct structure arranged on both sides of a cylindrical winding and by which the strength against the mechanical strength at the time of short-circuit in a high capacity device is not reduced and the cooling efficiency of the winding part positioned in the iron core is improved. SOLUTION: This transformer is provided with a winding wire 1 using a winding wire formed by winding a flat conductor into a cylinder, winding a strip or foil or winding a flat conductor and a strip or foil and an iron core 2. The transformer uses a cooling duct 3 which is formed by placing a number of insulators 32 in bar in parallel between both the upper and lower ends of the winding wire and the yoke of the iron core. Each of the insulators 32 in bar of the cooling duct has at least one notch 33 in the position corresponding to the winding wire end.
