SOLUTION: This access network 1 supplies at least one physical connection between line terminating equipment 10 and plural network devices 21, 23 and 27, the respective network devices 21, 23 and 27 are connectable to end user equipment 25 and 29, and the physical connection is provided with at least one distribution networks 15 and 16 for connecting the line terminating equipment to the plural network devices 21, 23 and 27. Protection changeover between one of the at least one physical connections and the other one is performed by a protection mechanism provided inside at least one of the plural network devices 21, 23 and 27. |
