PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an electrode having a strong adhesive force between an active material layer and a conductive substrate. SOLUTION: In a method of manufacturing an electrode by coating a conductive substrate with the composition containing the electrode active material, at least in the initial stage of a drying process, the coating layer formed on the conductive substrate by the coating means and to be dried is dried by a heating and drying means from a surface of the substrate opposite to a surface formed with the coating layer.
