PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foldable communication terminal that is formed by connecting a cover case to a body case in an openable/closable way and has less power consumption than a conventional foldable communication terminal. SOLUTION: The foldable communication terminal of this invention is provided with a backlight 23 of a display device 21, a lighting device 14 for a key entry device 12, an opening/closing detection switch 4 that detects an opening/closing state of the cover case with respect to the body case, a photo sensor 5 that detects the lightness around the display device 21, and a control circuit 7 that controls lighting/switching off of the backlight 23 and the key lighting device 14 based on an output signal from the opening/closing detection switch 4 and the photo sensor 5. The control circuit 7 lights the backlight 23 and the key lighting device 14 so long as the opening of the cover case is discriminated based on the output signal of the opening/closing detection switch 4 and the lightness around the display device 21 is discriminated lower than a reference value based on the output signal of the photo sensor 5. |
