PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide server supporting system and method capable of reporting information regarding a mail server whose operation is temporarily stopped to the transmission origin of electronic mail addressed to the mail server, and also answering an access origin for conditions regarding a WWW server whose operation is temporarily stopped as well. SOLUTION: This system is provided with a substituting mail server 420 for receiving the electronic mail instead of a normal mail server 320 managed by a DNS server 310, a registration means (a part of the function of the DNS server 310) for registering the substituting mail server 420 to the DNS server 310 and a substituting WWW server (not shown in the figure). The registration means registers the substituting mail server 420 to the DNS server 310 by the prescribed time traced back with the prescribed time of moving the mail server 320 as an origin. Thereafter, the normal mail server 320 and the WWW server 330 are moved.
