PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulating covering material of winding wire, which has low dielectric property, high heat resistance and high moisture resistance. SOLUTION: This insulating covering material for the winding wire, contains polyimide resin having repeated units shown in formula (1). Here in the formula (1), R1 expresses a tetra-valent aromatic organic group; R2 expresses a divalent aromatic organic group; R1 and/or R2 express aromatic organic group which does not have C-H bond.
