PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera that executes signal processing with respect to an image signal at a high frame rate successively photographed even during signal processing of a still picture. SOLUTION: The electronic camera is characterized in that it is provided with an image pickup section that performs still picture photographing to generate a still picture signal and perform control photographing to sequentially generate a control image signal at a high frame rate in time division, a still picture processing section that applies pre-determined signal processing for a still picture to the still picture signal, a control image processing section that applies pre-determined signal processing for a control image to the control image signal to extract control data, and with a control section that performs at least one control operation among exposure control/focus control/white balance control on the basis of the control data outputted from the control image processing section. The control image processing section and the still picture processing section are configured to be independently in operation, and the control image processing section performs the signal processing for the control image signal sequentially generated even during the signal processing period of the still picture signal. |
