A removable grip (26) for a five-gallon bucket (10) that includes a prying tool (56) for removing a lid (14) of the bucket (10). The grip (26) includes an elongated body (30) in which a channel (28) is formed. The channel (28) includes a centrally disposed widened portion (40) that is configured to accept an existing grip (18) formed on a bail (24) of the bucket handle (16). The channel (28) also includes narrow portions (42, 44) at each end of the widened portion (40) that accept the bail (24). Flexible tabs (102, 104) within each narrow portion (42, 44) lock the grip (26) onto the bail (24). The prying tool (56) includes a flat end (58) and a hooked end (60). The flat end (58) can be used to pry open the lid (14) of a paint bucket and can be a screwdriver end. The hooked end (60) can be used to pry up the tangs (22) of the lid (14) of the five-gallon bucket (10) to remove the lid (14). |
