<p>An arrangement within a communications network (31), wherein a first network unit (4) in the communications network has a first fownstream port (6 - 8) arranged for communication downwards in the network, and a first upstream port (5) arranged for communication upwards in the network. A second network unit (2) has a second downstream port (3) arranged for communication downwards in the network. According to the invention, said first network unit (4) is directly mountable onto said second network unit, whereby said first upstream port is communicatively connectable to said second downstream port, whilst said first downstream port is mechanically prevented, by way of its design, from being communicatively connected to said second downstream port. Preferably, said downstream ports are connectable to Ethernet standard RJ-45 cabling, whereas said upstream ports are mechanically prevented from being conencted to said RJ-45 cabling. Preferably, said ports further comprise power supply terminals (44, 47), arranged for being connected when mounting different units together.</p> |
