Method of secure single channel analysis of sensor signals especially indicator signals

The method of sensor signal analysis involves diversifying the sensor signals (13) by diverting a redundancy signal (4,5) at any position of a signal processing chain which has been redundant until then, direct from the original sensor signal according to a predetermined processing instruction. The original signal and the redundancy signal are digitized and are ten converted to a single channel signal for singular further processing. The single channel signal is transmitted to a processing unit. Two channel signal results are diverted into the processing unit by reversing the processing instruction. The plausibility of the original signal and the redundancy signal is monitored by mutual signal result comparison. Independent claims also cover an apparatus for carrying out the method.
