The method involves inserting a blank for the trim. The wall contour is transferred to the blank for the trim using a scribing gauge. The blank for the trim is sawn to shape along the scribed line. The trim blank is inserted to overlap the front of the furniture item by the selected distance that the scribing gauge should be spaced from the wall contour and is support by a pin on the opposite side of the wall. An Independent claim is included for a device with several parts for implementing the method.
