The invention relates to a flooring for sports arenas, especially horse-riding arenas, that comprises a substructure disposed on the underground (10) and a surface layer (14) applied to said substructure. The substructure is provided with a foundation (12) that consists of a lower layer (16) and an upper layer (18). Continuous cavities that receive and discharge water from precipitations are formed between the upper layer (18) and the lower layer (16). The upper layer (18) is maintained in a form fit on the lower layer (16) so that it is not horizontally displaced.
