<p>According to the invention, a robust decision to release a retaining means in a vehicle may be achieved, whereby the value of the difference (Μa) in temporally displaced measured acceleration values (ai, ai-n) is determined and then the figure for the difference is integrated. The integral (F) is compared with at least one threshold value (6) and if the integral (F) does not exceed at least one threshold value at one or several given points in time during the process of the crash, the position of the release threshold for the measured acceleration (a) or for a change in speed (dv) derived therefrom is changed such as to make the release sensitivity less.</p> |
