A coaxial gyrotron has a central conductor which is placed on the cathode and consists of monotonically decreasing corrugations in a central, cylindrical area in an axial direction to the collector. The corrugations are evenly distributed around the periphery in a homogeneous, constant manner. The development of eigenvalue mode functions can thus be additionally and selectively influenced, the start flows of undesirable modes can be increased, the scope of the working mode can be enlarged and the efficiency of the gyrotron can be improved. The above-mentioned measures enable wall losses in the inner conductor to be homogenised in an axial direction, facilitating the cooling thereof.
|
