METHOD OF APPLYING A SLIDER TO A FASTENER-CARRYING PLASTIC WEB

A method of applying a slider (40) to a fastner-carrying web of plastic film (50). The fastener (10) includes interlockable profiles (16, 18) and fins (20, 22) depending from the respective profiles (16, 18). One of the fins (20, 22) is attached to the web of plastic film (50) such that the profiles (16, 18) are immediately adjacent to the web (50). The fastener (10) is folded away from the web (50) about the attached fin (20, 22) such that th eprofiles (16, 18) and proximate protions of the fins (20, 22) are oriented at an angle, preferably about 90 degrees, relative the web (50). Because the profiles (16, 18) and proximate fin protions (20, 22) are oriented at an angle relative to the web (50), they can be easily accessed and controlled for applying the slider (40) to the profiles (16, 18) and performing other fastener-related operations.
