The positioning and cutting device has two orthogonal and phase-offset cutting knives (4, 6) which are fixed spatially relative to each other independently of format. The rotation unit (11) and the pressing unit (12), are also fixed in the device, also independently of format. this device can be fitted to existing three-knife cutting machines.
