<p>A vehicle cargo area extender (40, 240) including a pair of sidewalls (42, 242), a center wall (44, 244) extending between the pair of sidewalls (42, 242) and a lid (46, 246) removably disposed relative to the pair of sidewalls (42, 242) and the center wall (44, 244). The sidewalls (42, 242), the center wall (44, 244) and the lid (46, 246) cooperate to define an enclosure (48, 248) having an open end (50, 250). The vehicle cargo area extender (40,240) is moveably mounted between a stored position relative to a vehicle cargo area (24) wherein the open end (50, 250) of the enclosure (48, 248) is adjacent to the rear wall (30) of the vehicle cargo area (24) and a deployed position so as to be supported by the rear wall (30) of the vehicle cargo area (24) when it is in its extended position such that the open end (50, 250) of the enclosure (48, 248) faces the vehicle cargo area (24) thereby increasing the effective size of the vehicle cargo area (24).</p> |
