<p>The invention relates to a method for determining the volume of a liquid cargo in a ship tank by radar level measuring of the cargo surface (2a). By means of this level measuring, a value is determined for the vertical amplitude of vertical motions of the cargo surface (2a), which vary as a result of the ship's movements caused by the prevailing weather conditions and water wave motion. The ship is oriented to such a bearing that the amplitude of the motions is minimised, allowing a more precise determination of the cargo volume than was previously possible.</p> |
