The invention relates to an airbag whose inflatable bag (1) has a gas vent hole (3) made in said bag (1), which is sealed by a patch (14, 24, 34) that is to be broken under the effect of the inner pressure and has variable thickness with the purpose of reducing its volume when it is inflated under the effect of the gas. In one embodiment of the invention, the patch (14, 24, 34) is configured in segments having different thickness. In said embodiment, the invention also comprises different variants, more particularly, one variant includes a central segment having a given thickness, said thickness being normally smaller than that of other segments, and a surface which depends on the desired breaking pressure.
