A particle-filled textile laminate comprises a central layer of staple fibers of 0.7-50 dtex in which 5-95% of particles of average size 1 microns m - 6 mm are enclosed, based on the total weight of the central layer, and two outer textile layers. The fibers of the outer layers are bound to those of the central layer at points along their length. An Independent claim is included for the production of the laminate, comprising applying staple fibers by a carding or air-laid process to a textile underlayer, adding particles as above and applying an upper textile layer which is identical to the underlayer.
