An isolated polynucleotide (I) from Coryneform bacteria comprising a polynucleotide sequence coding for the lysR3 gene, comprising a polynucleotide having at least 70% identity to a polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide comprising a sequence (S1) of 210 amino acids fully defined in the specification, is new. (I) comprises a polynucleotide having at least 70% identity to a polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide comprising S1, a polynucleotide coding for a polypeptide comprising a sequence having at least 70% identity to S1, a polynucleotide complementary to the above said polynucleotides, or a polynucleotide comprising at least 15 successive nucleotides of the above said polynucleotides, where the polypeptide preferably has the activity of the transcription regulator LysR3. An Independent claim is also included for a Coryneform bacteria (II) in which the lysR3 gene is attenuated, preferably eliminated.
