PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electroluminescence device which can make the joint parts of adjacent display panels inconspicuous, without causing light-emitting parts to deteriorate, when one display device is constituted by joining the plural display panels, and to provide a method of manufacturing for the same. SOLUTION: The organic EL display device 1 is constituted by joining four sheets of small-sized panels 2a to 3d at joint surfaces A and B. The respective small-sized panels 2a to 3d have glass substrates 8a to 8d, plural scanning pixel electrodes 5a to 5d, organic EL light emitting layers 7a to 7d, signal pixel electrodes 6a to 6d and end-sealing layers 9. The signal pixel electrodes 6a to 6d on the joint surface B side of the respective small-sized panels 2a to 2d are, formed so that their end faces 60 do not extend beyond the flanks 50 of the scanning pixel electrodes 5a to 5d near the joint surfaces B to the joint surface B side.
