The electrical circuit has several power semiconductor end stages (51-5n) driving associated loads (71-7n) and influenced by a microcomputer (1) to which they are connected via a circuit complex (41-4n) contg. a computer system and interfaces (31-3n) for protecting and driving the power semiconductor end stages. The computer system is influenced by a physical parameter for each power semiconductor end stage. Each circuit complex responds to impermissible, highly time critical variations in the physical parameter directly via the interface hardware. It responds to impermissible, less time critical variations via a programmable protection function.
