<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a memory means in a program controller in which a read only memory or a non-volatile and electric rewritable memory is used for a memory means such as a program memory or a font memory. SOLUTION: A program memory 3 and a font memory 4 are connected through a bus buffer 12 to a bus line 11 to which a CPU and a main storage memory or the like are connected, and an interrupting circuit 13 for interrupting power supply to each memory 3 and 4 is arranged. After power supply or a reset signal is asserted, the initialization processing of hardware and software is executed. Then, the copy of a program from the program memory 3 to the main storage memory is started, and when the copy is ended, the interrupting circuit 13 is turned on according to a control signal, and the power supply to the program memory 3 is interrupted. In the same way as for the font memory 4, the font data are copied, and then the power source is interrupted.</p> |
