PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ground strain detection end capable of being easily installed in a deep hole formed in the ground and of detecting ground strain with high accuracy. SOLUTION: A displacement sign tube body 5 is formed by connecting plural short tube bodies 15 together, an optical fiber sensor 6 is disposed along the displacement sign tube body 5 with tension applied, and the plural positions of the optical fiber sensor 6 are fixed to the displacement sign tube body 5 with fixing jigs 7, so that the detection end 3 is composed. The detection end 3 can easily be installed in the deep longitudinal hole 2 by inserting it into the longitudinal hole 2 while connecting the short tube bodies 15 and fixing the optical fiber sensor 6, and is integrated with the ground by charging the longitudinal hole 2 with a filler 8 after the insertion, so that distortion is produced in the optical sensor 6 according to the ground strain, and a strain distribution produced in the ground can accurately be measured by detecting the distortion by the observation of a scattering light intensity distribution.
