PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce risk of a traveling roller disruption down to an allowable level and to reduce traveling roller travel noise and to maintain emergency drive characteristics needed in a clump coupling operation by fulfilling a func tion of the traveling roller even in the case of a disruption of a drive surface of a metal made roller body. SOLUTION: This traveling roller 5 for a traveling gear mechanism has a pulley-like roller body 51 of a conveying means on an aerial ropeway system. The roller body 51 itself is manufactured with a known method from metal, especially from steel. A drive surface 61 made of plastic material enclosing the roller body part 51 is provided.
