PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having a polarizer 2 disposed on the outer face of a display panel 3 such that distortion or display irregularity caused by the difference in thermal expansion between the polarizer or a polarizer supporting substrate and a display panel can be prevented, and to provide a liquid crystal display device in which the polarizer can be easily protected from moisture or the like. SOLUTION: A polarizer film 2 not laminated with a supporting film or the like is mounted on the outer face of a display panel 3, and the whole body in this state is covered with a transparent resin film 1 and sealed while deaerating into a vacuum state.
