PURPOSE: A hermetic compressor is provided to reduce operating noise and vibration in an effective manner by improving an outer appearance of the upper cell. CONSTITUTION: A hermetic compressor comprises a closed case constituted by an upper cell(110) and a lower cell; a compression unit including a cylinder and a piston for refrigerant compression; and a driving unit including a rotor and a stator for driving the compression unit, wherein the compression unit and the driving unit are accommodated into the closed case. The upper cell has a unit processing section(111) which is formed by transforming the surface of the upper cell so as to be reflected to the shape of the upper cell when the upper cell is projected. The unit processing section includes one or more recesses formed through an embossing process. The recess has a depth of 7 to 7.5mm with respect to the surface of the upper cell.
