PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ventilating apparatus including an operation knob which can be easily operated and positively locked. SOLUTION: The ventilating apparatus 20 includes the operation knob 40 for activating a working plate 32 to open/close an air duct 20e. The operation knob 40 includes a knob main body 41 vertically and slidably arranged on a decorative plate 24 (wall facing the indoor side), a locking member 43 and a releasing button 44 housed in the knob main body 41. The locking member 43 is slidable in a direction orthogonal to the decorative plate 24. The locking member 43 is opposed to a locking hole 24a of the decorative plate 24 when the knob main body 41 assumes an upper-limit closing position, and fitted into the locking hole 24a by means of a spring 45. The releasing button 44 interlocks with the locking member 43, and by pressing down the releasing button 44, the locking member 43 slips out of the locking hole 24a.
