PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a conventional optical scanner where a polygon mirror is commonly used is complicated in its construction and expensive because the device needs a lot of mirrors. SOLUTION: Among plural luminous fluxed which are deflected and reflected by a deflector, the optical paths of the luminous fluxes for at least two faces to be scanned which are adjacent to each other are different from each other, and a respective scanning lens having a focal length corresponding to a respective optical path is arranged in the optical pass. Further, image-clocking periods for synchronizing image signals for the luminous fluxes having different optical paths are set different from each other so that the arriving positions of the luminous fluxes in the main scanning direction on the surfaces to be scanned coincide.
