PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove toner without rotating an intermediate transfer body for plural times even in the case that the quantity of the toner to be removed is large. SOLUTION: An image forming device is provided with an image carrier 1 by which a toner image T is formed and carried, the intermediate transfer body 2 arranged so as to be opposed to the image carrier 1, a primary transfer means 3 to transfer the toner image T on the image carrier 1 on the intermediate transfer body 2, a secondary transfer means 4 to transfer the toner image T on the intermediate transfer body 2 on a recording medium K and a reversely electrifying means 5 to apply electrifying bias having a polarity reverse to the original electrified polarity of the toner to the toner on the intermediate transfer body 2 on the downstream side of the secondary transfer means 4 and also on the upstream side of the primary transfer means 3, and provided with an auxiliary recovering means 6 to auxiliary recover the toner on the intermediate transfer body 2 on the downstream side of the secondary transfer means 4 and also the upstream side of the reversely electrifying means 5.
