PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method and apparatus for measuring froth retention of beer or the like, measuring an actual state of froth, reducing the errors among chambers or measuring persons, and being capable of performing one measurement within several minutes. SOLUTION: The method for measuring froth retention of bear or the like is constituted of a frothing process for putting beer to be measured or the like in a measuring container, capable of measuring the thickness of froth or a liquid surface by a CCD camera; a laser measuring process for irradiating the froth in the measuring container with laser beam of a laser measuring instrument after frothing process, while moving the laser measuring instrument above the froth to measure a state such that the upper part of the froth comes down with the elapse of time; and a CCD camera measuring process for measuring the rising of the liquid surface caused by the reduction of the initial thickness of froth and the collapse of froth by a CCD camera measuring instrument, after the frothing process and a data processing process for processing the data obtained in the CCD camera measuring process and the data obtained in the laser measuring process for displaying the actual height dimension of froth with the elapse of time. |
