PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To successively display the map information to a destination without missing in a navigation system using a portable terminal. SOLUTION: A present position area E1 and a destination area E200 are specified at a base station 20 receiving the destination data from the portable terminal 10, and sent to an exchange station 30. The present position area E1 and the destination area E200 are connected by a straight-line in an exchange station control part 33, an area including the whole or a part of the straight-line is determined as a route area, and the map data of the route area are simultaneously transmitted to the portable terminal 10 from the exchange station control part 33 through the base station 20. The received map data including the present position is searched in the portable terminal 10, and sent to a display part 14 to be displayed on an image plane as an area map. Then the area maps of the transition address are successively displayed on the basis of an area transition signal from the exchange station 30 in the display part 14. |
