PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image output device, in which display of image data is periodically updated and are also immediately updated by an absolute minimum data transfer. SOLUTION: A video processing section 104 in an image output device is provided with a data transfer request control circuit 107, which includes a frame rate register 108 that determines the data transfer request issuing period and a data transfer request issuing section 109. When an update flag is set in the register 108, a data transfer request is issued, regardless of the periodic transfer period set in the register 108, so as to make the display image data stored in a frame memory 106 updated.
