PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To designate and make usable a plurality of bookmarks in reading a home page after downloading the bookmarks from a bookmark server to a portable information terminal. SOLUTION: Once the user of the portable information terminal 2 downloads bookmark data including a bookmark corresponding to a desired homepage from the bookmark server 1 to memory 22 for bookmark storage, the user can subsequently read all homepages having URLs corresponding to the bookmarks in the bookmark data simply by designating the bookmarks without accessing the bookmark server.
