PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate a source signal even when the number of observation signals is smaller than the number of source signals. SOLUTION: A delay circuit 7 generates a delayed observation signal x(n-L) from an observation signal x(n) and multipliers 1 to 4 multiply the observation signal x(n) or delayed observation signal x(n-L) by coefficients W11(n), W12(n), W21(n), and W22(n) respectively; and an adder 5 which adds the signals from the multipliers 1 and 2 and an adder 6 which adds the signals from the multipliers 3 and 4 find approximate signals y1(n) and y2(n) of the source signals at time intervals and a computer 8 updates the mentioned coefficients with the mentioned approximate signals at the mentioned time at time intervals.
