PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and promptly perform setting of individual or common parameters to plural pieces of equipment. SOLUTION: A setting device 1 to set pieces of parameter data constituted by being preliminarily stored to pieces of equipment to be set is cascade- connected with plural pieces of equipment 2, 3, 4 to be set in which pieces of the parameter data are written. Pieces of the parameter data are successively transferred from a transmitting/receiving part 1c of the setting device 1 to the equipment N4 to be set at the last stage via a first transmitting/receiving part 2a and a second transmitting/receiving part 2b of the initial equipment A2 to be set. The respective pieces of equipment to be set write the transferred data in ROMs 2c, 3c, etc., and when write of the data is completed, notify the setting device of data that the write is completed in the inverse route of the one for transfer, respectively. The setting device 1 stores the data regarding notification in a second memory part 1b and displays numbers, etc., of pieces of the equipment to be set to which the notification is performed on a display part 1d based on the stored data.
