PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a stopper member capable of reducing manufacturing cost greatly and a metal gasket provided with the stopper member having excellent productivity and capable of being manufactured inexpensively. SOLUTION: This metal gasket is provided with a gasket constituent plate 11 forming an opening part 12 at a position corresponding to a cylinder hole 4 and the annular stopper member 20 which is fixed to the gasket constituent plate 11 so as to surround the opening part 12 and whose at least one section in the peripheral direction is made continuous by welding.
