PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a misfire detector capable of reducing a high-tension energy loss after a required charge amount is accumulated in a capacitor by solving such a problem that a part of the energy of a high tension generated for use to discharge from an ignition plug since the capacitor is charged by using a part of the discharge voltage of the ignition plug for monitoring the ion current of the ignition plug in a conventional ignition circuit. SOLUTION: After the charging into the capacitor 41 is completed, a thyristor 45 is turned on to prevent a voltage from being lowered by the thyristor 45. To prevent the discharge of the capacitor 41 produced by the thyristor 45 in on state, a diode 46 is installed between the capacitor 41 and the thyristor 45. To prevent a current in a circuit for detecting a misfire from being cut off, a resistance element 47 is installed parallel with the diode 46.
