PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine misfire detector capable of eliminating such a problem that, even when a combustion is not performed normally, the combustion is erroneously discriminated to be performed normally (erroneous discrimination). SOLUTION: A circuit is configured so that the discrimination on the detection of misfire of an engine is not performed or utilized in the period having the possibility of erroneous discrimination. Particularly, by processing the voltage signal applied to the primary coil 3 of the ignition coil 1 of an ignitor, the discrimination signal of a discrimination means 12 is shaped by utilizing a means 17 for defining a time interval, and the discrimination signal is masked by the signal to prevent erroneous discrimination in the time interval.
