PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembling tool capable of efficiently assembling an optical connector at low cost. SOLUTION: The tool is equipped with a positioning base 12 which is formed with a groove 14 for storing an optical connector, arid a wedge support 16 for holding a wedge 11 which releases the connecting mechanism of the optical connector and which allows the insertion of an optical fiber to be connected. In the storing groove 14 of the positioning base 12, positioning planes 12a-12c are provided which perform positioning in the front and rear connecting direction and the vertical direction of the optical fiber. The positioning places of the optical connector are brought into contact with these positioning planes 12a-12c, thereby enabling plural kinds of optical connectors to be positioned which have different positioning places.
