PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a temperature irregularity in the direction of the width of a heat resistant film while shortening warm-up time, in the fixing device using the heat resistant film whose heat capacity is small. SOLUTION: The fixing device 408 has a first roller body 20 which incorporates a tubular halogen lamp 21, and a second roller body 30 which is in contact with the surface of the first roller body in a specific nip-width. The fixing device 408 also has a rotational temperature-irregularity decreasing member 440 which is arranged parallel to the axils of the second roller body and is in contact with the peripheral face of the second roller body at specific pressure. The temperate-irregularity decreasing member is formed by disposing a metal, such as aluminum, which has high heat conductivity, so that specific thickness (diameter) is obtained. The axial heat conduction of the temperature- irregularity decreasing member is extremely satisfactory. By the contact of the temperature-irregularity decreasing member with the second roller body, the temperature irregularity in the longitudinal direction of the first roller body that is in contact with the second roller body is decreased.
