PURPOSE: A communication apparatus is provided to allow for a high speed data communication between the host board and target boards, while duplicating the host board and connecting the target boards in a back plane. CONSTITUTION: A communication apparatus comprises a host board(100) having a control unit; and a target board(200) having no control unit. The host board and target board are interconnected through a differential line cable or back plane. The host board and the target board have transceivers(140,220) for transmitting/receiving a low voltage differential signal through the differential line cable. The host board includes a micro processor(110) serving as a controller, a field programmable gate array(FPGA)(120), a driver(130) and the transceiver. The target board includes a receiver(210), a transceiver(220), an FPGA(230) and a function module(240).
