PROTECTIVE DIFFUSION FILM, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, PLANAR LIGHT SOURCE DEVICE AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective diffusion film which makes no scratch on a lens film and a liquid crystal display element, does not release dust, etc., and also has moderate shielding power and to provide a method for producing the diffusion film, a planar light source device and a liquid crystal display. SOLUTION: Protective diffusion layers 13A, 13B each having a fine rugged shape on the surface are disposed on both faces of a substrate film 11 to produce the objective protective diffusion film 10. This film 10 is disposed on the top of a planar light source device 20 and situated between a lens film 40 and a liquid crystal display element 33. The protective diffusion film 10 makes no scratch on the lens film 40 and the display element 33. Though the film 10 does not contain beads, it has shielding power as well as moderate light diffusing power.
